WET band in depth research

Wet is the band we have decided to create a music video with one of there songs called "its all in vain"

Wet are an indie pop band made up of Kelly Zutrau, Joe Valle, and Marty Sulkow. The band was first formed in 2012 they have released an album and EP and are signed to Columbia records. The three members met in New york city whist at university. The group began writing and sharing music online and began to gain attention in 2013. They signed with a boutique record label called neon gold in 2013, who at the time had a partnership with columbia records Neo gold began a new partnership with Atlantic records in 2014 and WET decided to sign with columbia itself this time. Wet realised their first album in 2016 titled "don't you". 

Song choice

Today we finally decided our song this was an issue that we needed to agree on due to us needing to begin filming for our video.we have dediced on a song called its all in vain by a band called WET.

Shoot 2

During this shoot we used the same set up as we did for the first shoot as we liked the set up of the footage from the shoot. Though during this shoot we set up the camera to film at different angles. So we can have a different angles for the chorus.This was filmed in the same setting as the other chorus as we decided to keep a very simplistic white room that we could manipulate as to what we wanted the background to look like.

Oh wonder analysis

the video begins with an establishing shot of the setting. it also has text showing the and of the song.

The camera then zooms in on a man lying on the floor. And then cuts to a woman also laying on the floor in a different setting this introduces the audience to the prospers in the song. 

The shots the cuts to an establishing shot of both the performers together lip syncing to the song. 

Scenes of both the performers walking through there different settings continue through out the video whilst being cut up with shots f them both presuming together in similar clothing. 

Wet music video analysis

the music video starts with a close up shot of the artist establishing her in the song.

the video then cuts to an establishing shot of the street which we assume is the main setting for the music video. 

the video then tracks the movement of the artists as she walks along the street to establish who the main performer is. 

The actual song the video is for does not start until 45 seconds in and before hand we just hear everyday noises of the street. We have a second character introduced during the video at 1:14 minutes in who stays i  the video throughout.

The video starts with an establishing shot if both the perfomer and the actor in the music video. this gives the audience an idea about the storyline of the song and that it will be about love.

The video then shows a shot of the artist standing and shows an image of the song title and band name. 

The video swaps between lips of the singer standing alone in a desert like setting to the setting of the couple together. The artists is lip syncing along to the song whilst in the clips on her own. 

The song uses many close ups of the artists face as she is lip syncing along with the song. 

the song contuse and follows the storyline until at the end the couple are back together and are see in the same shot as they were at the beginning of the song.
